What we do
Little Acorns supports vulnerable children and young people in Cambodia, with a primary focus on the Future Light Organization (FLO) in Phnom Penh.
We provide long-term support towards education, food, healthcare and everyday living costs, alongside funding specific projects and needs as they arise.
We work closely with FLO to ensure funding is used effectively and where it can make the greatest difference.
Little Acorns is entirely volunteer led, with no salaries or trustee expenses.
Introducing our “Sponsor a Child” Programme
For £100 (approximately US$130) a month, you can help provide a vulnerable child in Cambodia with the essentials they need to grow up safe, healthy and educated.
Your support contributes towards food, education, healthcare and everyday living costs at the Future Light Organization (FLO), helping us provide consistent, long-term support for the children in its care.
When you join, you will receive a welcome pack introducing you to a child at FLO, together with updates so you can follow their progress. Your donation supports FLO’s wider work and is not restricted solely to that individual child.
It is a practical and personal way to make a lasting difference.
Our Trustees

Matt Baker
Matt retired in 2025 after a 35 year career in the insurance industry to focus full time on charitable work in Cambodia. Prior to this, he supported two schools in Kathmandu, Nepal. In recent years, his main focus has been education and poverty relief in Cambodia, particularly through the Future Light Organization (FLO), which he visits regularly. He is the founder and chair of Little Acorns, a UK-registered charity. He now divides his time between the UK and Cambodia, and is actively looking to build partnerships with businesses, NGOs and other associations. His passion lies in creating long-term support for sustainable projects that help vulnerable children thrive.

Bernard Chant
Bernard spent his career working in the insurance industry in both England and Italy before relocating to Switzerland. A keen badminton player, he now shares his passion for the sport by coaching local children and Ukrainian refugees. While living in England, he served as a Director of Wimbledon Racquets & Fitness Club. Bernard has known and supported the Future Light Organization (FLO) in Phnom Penh for over two decades, and continues to play an active role in its work through Little Acorns.

Paul Wilkins
Paul has worked in building safety for over 40 years, most recently as Chief Executive of one of the largest private sector organisations specialising in building regulation and fire safety. He remains actively involved in the sector in a variety of roles. During his time as Chief Executive, he championed Corporate Social Responsibility, helping the organisation support local, national and international charities. In recent years, Paul has taken a more hands-on approach to charitable work, supporting the Wetwheels Foundation which provides access to the sea for people with severe and complex disabilities – as well as the Future Light Organization (FLO) in Phnom Penh through his involvement with Little Acorns. He visits Cambodia as often as he can to stay closely involved with the work on the ground.
